Spring-summer 2018 bags trends to be daring

From miniature format to arty references: spring-summer 2018 bags tend to be daring

Forget the functional side of the bags: Givenchy, Jacquemus and Saint Laurent shrink it to the extreme. Just enough to slip a credit card and a lipstick. And because we have nothing to hide, we dare the plastic bag à la Céline, Chanel or Valentino.

SS18 Chanel Bag

Without taking ourselves too seriously, we display our geeky side armed with an arty bag in the image of Andy Warhol pop art at Versace.

Formerly know as the FUGLY bad taste, we now assume the fanny pack for the new season. Thanks to Gucci & Marc Jacob's belted version. Balenciaga slips its fanny pack on the shoulder at Balenciaga.

The playful bag with the offbeat look is also making its way to our arm. Back in childhood with Moschino and misappropriation of objects at Dolce & Gabbana and Alexander Wang.

The wicker basket is a thousand miles away from the rural spirit of last summer: XXL weaving at Loewe or kaleidoscope spirit at Christian Dior.

The leather handbag looks falsely wise in pristine white at Louis Vuitton and Lanvin or embarks on a galactic journey in a silver version at Balmain and Isabel Marant.

For Carven, Chanel, Chloé or Margiela, two bags are better than one. There is no need to procrastinate for hours: one slips the essential into the first and the superfluous into the second.

With so many bag to choose from, which bag hook will you use to hook your new spring summer bag?

Where to put my fancy handbag while eating in a restaurant

The question of where to put my fancy handbag while eating in a restaurant has plagued me for years.

I’m constantly finding myself in places where the chairs have those dreadful rounded backs, and I’m never going to be someone who puts my bag on the floor, ever. (Those of you whose default move is to stash your bag on the floor had better not do one iota of research about how many germs are on the bottom of the average handbag.) Those bag hooks that use a pendulum and the law of gravity tend to be gaudy, tip over easily, and only work on flat surfaces. After much careful consideration, I thought I’d hit upon the best two options available: either never carry any purse you can’t sling across your body (which is horribly uncomfortable), or never be afraid to ask your waiter to bring a spare chair to the table.

But this was all before my friend recommanded My Bag Hanger, a sleek, simple, foldable handbag hook device with a grippy, padded opening that cleverly holds even heavy handbags on the edge of a table, door of a bathroom stall, back of a chair, or any teensy-tiny available ledge you can find. A friend has been raving about these littles hooks so I decided to take a chance on it. I’m glad I did, because it works exactly as promised. I love accessories and I love bags this is the perfect way if you dont want to put your bag on the floor at owkr or in restaurants.
